The power of women have always been powerful. We have the power to give life, the power to nurture, the power to love. But in recent years, we have also been tapping into our professional power. We are becoming CEOs and politicians, scientists and lawyers. We are breaking glass ceilings and smashing stereotypes. We are showing the world that we are just as capable as our male counterparts.
There are more women in the workforce than ever before. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as of 2019, 57.3% of Americans ages 16 and over were employed. Of those employees, 47% were women. That’s a pretty significant portion of the workforce! And we’re not just working in low-level jobs, either. In 2018, women held 52% of all management positions in the United States .The power of women we are continuing to climb the corporate ladder and prove that we are just as capable as men when it comes to leadership.
Women are also making waves in politics. In 2020, a record-breaking number of women were elected to Congress. 101 women were elected to the House of Representatives, and 26 women were elected to the Senate. That means that there are now 127 women serving in Congress! And that’s not even counting all of the women who were elected to state and local offices across the country. These numbers show that voters are ready for change and they want to see more diversity in our government.
